About the arcade

A restored Victorian arcade in the heart of Manchester.

Our story

A Manchester original, since 1871

Barton Arcade has stood on Deansgate for over 150 years — one of the finest surviving Victorian shopping arcades in Britain. Today it’s home to 60 units across four levels, with 9 available to let, all wrapped in restored cast-iron galleries beneath a glass dome.

We’re not a shopping centre. We’re a curated address for independents who want character, footfall and a landlord who actually picks up the phone.

What makes Barton Arcade different

Character over uniformity

Original ironwork, mosaic floors and a soaring glass canopy — no two units are the same, and that’s the point.

Independents first

We curate a mix of cafés, makers and boutiques, choosing tenants who add to the arcade’s personality.

A genuine footfall

Steps from St Ann’s Square and Deansgate, the arcade draws shoppers, workers and visitors throughout the day.

Hands-on management

A responsive, on-site team — from first enquiry to fit-out and beyond.
